What’s your title and what do you do? Title: Director, Digital Wealth Management What I do: I am currently leading the digital client experience for the Wealth Management business at Bank of New York Mellon. In this role I am responsible for the vision, strategy, implementation and adoption of all the digital transformation projects that impact our client's experience.
What company do you work for and what does it do? I work for the Bank of New York Mellon, within the Wealth Management business. This business caters to the needs of our Ultra High Networth families and Family Offices.
What area of Fintech is the company or your role in? Core digitization of processes, workflows and build of new innovative digital experiences and products. Our focus is the ultra high net worth space in Wealth Management.
How many years of experience do you have within the Fintech space? 3+ years
How did you get into Fintech and/or this role? I was lucky to be approached for a Product Manager role while in my second year at Stern.
How has your experience, education or network helped you in Fintech? I think the mix of education focus at Stern plus the expertise acquired pre and post MBA allowed me to grow in this role over time.
What advice would you give someone looking to build a career within the Fintech space? Be flexible to learn as much as possible from experts in the field.
Connect with experts in the space who work in fintech in large and small enterprises to get a sense for the breadth and depth of the work done. Understand team structures and collaboration styles to progress work.
Read about new technologies available to digitize and innovate the financial sector.
Talk to people who work in various industries within financial services - understand the core business and what digitization looks like for them.
